Care home residents recently relished a scenic river excursion in the company of their MP.

The outing from the Royal Harwich Yacht Club, tracked the River Orwell and included traversing the Orwell Bridge.

Residents from Spring Lodge Care Home at Woolverstone, near Ipswich, embarked on the trip accompanied by hospitality manager Agi Seemungal and local MP James Cartlidge.

The trip was provided by the Woolverstone Project, a charity committed to providing river access for those with disabilities.

Ms Seemungal said: “We are lucky to be in such a picturesque part of the county.

"We had a fabulous time spotting birds and learning about the history of the area.

"Our thanks go to The Woolverstone Project for operating such a worthwhile venture.”

In appreciation to the charity, Mr Cartlidge said: “I was delighted to visit The Woolverstone Project, an incredible charity.

"I was proud to assist them in obtaining a National Lottery grant and today got to see with my own eyes the amazing experience they offer people. "

The Woolverstone Project provides volunteer-run operations from Woolverstone Marina and caters to all through specially adapted facilities.
