Suffolk Day 2018

I was pleased to work with my Westminster colleagues to highlight the things that we love most about our brilliant county. There has been a fine array of Suffolk producers on display in Parliament's Jubilee Room. In Suffolk there has been hundreds of events especially for Suffolk day.

Suffolk MP to champion plight of Turtle Doves

The RSPB's warning that there's been a sharp decline in the number of Turtle Doves in the east and they've been placed on the list of threatened species.

Numbers of Turtle Doves breeding in Britain have dropped by 94 per-cent over the last 20 years.

RSPB Owl Box Donation

On Friday I donated an owl box that had been made for me by a local RSPB volunteer to Bentley Primary School. I hope that an owl takes to opportunity to re-settle in this new home so that the pupils can learn more about these fascinating creatures.

Last month I was delighted to host a meeting with Councillors from South Suffolk’s parishes regarding neighbourhood plans. The meeting, which was held at Hadleigh Town Hall, was well attended with representatives from many of the villages across the constituency.

Suffolk Show 2018

I thoroughly enjoyed the first day of the Suffolk Show. Interesting discussions about rural crime with NFU and wildlife crime officers from Suffolk Constabulary.
